How can I wipe my computer clean of all the information currently stored on it and start from scratch?
I currently have a Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop pc, with Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2. Basically all I want to do is start over from the beginning, like it’s a brand new, fresh-out-of-the-box computer. But, here’s the thing – I don’t have any of the start-up or driver discs that originally came with my computer. Now, with the research I’ve done thus far, I know that it’s nearly impossible to do this without those discs unless buy a Windows Vista Upgrade, which right now I don’t want to do. If I could get some help with this it’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
My full-screen video games are being cut-off the screen?
I am using a Sony Vaio Media Center PC and I just installed Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 onto it. It seems as though almost every full-screen gameI play gets cut-off the screen. The top and left of the screen are missing and there is “empty” black space on the right and bottom, almost as if someone “pushed the picture” on the screen up and to the left.
how do i connect to pc’s through a router?
ok. i want to connect 2 pc’s together. can i do that with a router. os’s are both windows xp media center. i want to connect the pc’s to share files through them.
”
You got it, the best way is through a router. Just make sure it’s a router with a built in ethernet switch (it should have around 5 network ports in the back). Because it has a built-in firewall, it will keep your network safe from outside attackers while still allowing you to share files!”
ok. how would i go about doing that?
both pc’s do have internet trought the router.
“well i would try going to THE START BUTTON for starters then going to the run button and type in this NSLOOKUP.EXE and then if that doesn’t give you enough info on your dns type in IPCONFIG.EXE.(please NOTE plug in your ethernet adapter thing before running any of this described above).ok so then after doing all that still go to the run button in your start button and type in TELNET.EXE.and type in the info you got from the stuff above described”
thanks but this did not help. i need something explained to me where a child could under stand what to do.
Just formated PC and there are 2 operating system to start: Windows XP home & Pro, how to remove the bad one?
After i formated my computer, i have 2 operating system to start when i turn on my PC:
Windows XP home and Windows XP media center(the one i have before).
Note, i did a fresh installed, and all the old data are removed. i don’t know why there still windows media on start. When i chose the Windows XP media, it said “windows could not start because the file is missing” the means i did remove all the old data, but why there are 2 operating system to start ?
Thanks for your help!
