Can I get a HD picture from my Media Center PC?

I have a DLP projector (1080i) hooked up to my media center PC. Using a DVI cable on the “out” side of the video card, but only a coax input is available for the input in my TV card. I have DISH HD service, but my picture looks blurry from the projector. I’m loding the HD signal due to the MCPC. Is there a stand-alone HD-upconvert available that I could put between the PC and projector to get a HD picture?

Update…the resolution of both PC and projector are set at 1280×720. I could just hook up the DISH box directly to the projector, but then I lose the MCPC functions (detailed guide, DVR, etc.). Thanks in advance for further advice :) Update…the resolution of both PC and projector are set at 1280×720. Hi,

I recently purchased HP z540 media center pc which is connected to the tv. I have a tv stand thats made of wood and have a small hole in the back for the wires. Other than that small, it has no other ventilation except when I open the glass door. My question is it safe to put it into the tv stand (i.e. won’t over heat if I leave it on 24/7)?

I was wondering, because I want to digitize my old Star Wars videos and maybe a little more. I know how to do it if I can, but I don’t know if I need a DAC. Do I? I’d really rather not pay $50 to get them on dvd! (I’m waiting until I can watch them in high definition someday. That’s what I want my children to watch, after all, once I have children.) Is it possible?

I just bought a VIsta Premium PC and I want to connect it to my HD Home theater system. I want to not only view pictures and listen to music but also record TV shows from Direct TV. The PC has VIsta Home Premium and comes with a TV tuner card and wireless lan. I know you can do the cable thing but my PC and TV are in two different rooms and all these cables for satelite, video and audio would be a nightmare.

What are my options?

What is the best way to hook up my HP a1530n Media Center PC to my Yamaha HTR-5830 Home Theater?

fbodell asked:

I have all of my music downloaded to a hard drive and want to play them through my Yamaha HTR-5830. The output jacks on the PC for audio consists of 3 mini jacks for front, surround and subwoofer. The HTR-5830 has audio inputs for Dual RCA plugs for almost all inputs. Should I use a mini plug to RCA cable just for the fronts and hook it up to an aux input? Use the 6.1 inputs? I just want to play my tunes!!!!!!

Any help is appreciated. If you need more info just ask.
