media center desktop pcs

what do I need to connect my Home theater system to my vista media center PC?

been there asked:

I just bought a VIsta Premium PC and I want to connect it to my HD Home theater system. I want to not only view pictures and listen to music but also record TV shows from Direct TV. The PC has VIsta Home Premium and comes with a TV tuner card and wireless lan. I know you can do the cable thing but my PC and TV are in two different rooms and all these cables for satelite, video and audio would be a nightmare.

What are my options?

The best thing you could do is have someone come over and do it for you. Otherwise you will have to tell someone exactly what you have for equipment and how far everything is apart so they can tell you what to do.

the logical place to consult is your PC manufacture for assistance, most have the cables and products they can sell you right over the phone.

Well there is a wireless Video/Audio Sender/transmitter that might work they have them at radio shack or maybe even partsexpress.com. But the quality is not going to be as good. I did here of a wireless HDMI Sender/transmetter but i don’t know where to get one; google it. You may also be able to hook up a Remote extender so you can control you computer from you TV room. Or an universal RF “Radio Frequency” Remote.

There are devices that allow you to watch computer content on your home theater but not from your Home Theater to pc without direct connection.
2 devices to look at are the D-link Media Lounge and apples Appletv
I will give you the link.
